Why I built it

I spend long days alone at my desk, and I wanted something that made those hours feel a bit less lonely. I also kept losing quick notes and links across a dozen apps. So I made a little pet that sits beside my work and keeps those things close.

What it does

Your companion stays at the edge of the screen. From there you can write notes, save links, keep checklists and collections, and run focus sessions with a countdown right next to your pet. There are 18 breeds of dogs and cats. You choose the size, opacity, screen edge and interface color. It works in English and Spanish, and everything is stored locally on your Mac.

How I made it

I designed it first: the pets, the panels, how it all sits on the screen. Then I built it as a native Mac app in Swift, with SwiftUI and AppKit, using AI-assisted coding with Codex along the way. The latest version adds a first-launch onboarding: you name your companion, pick a breed, choose where it lives and take a quick tour. A Windows version is planned.
